IDOR 2023 – Recognising the Pivotal Role of Medical Imaging in the Healthcare Ecosystem

Vienna, November 6, 2023 – The International Day of Radiology (IDOR) is set to take place on November 8, under its standing motto “Radiologists and Radiographers Supporting Patients”. The day will be acknowledged by thousands of imaging departments, institutions, organisations and companies across the world, as they prepare to promote the crucial part that radiology plays in the patient journey.

Local events serve as the cornerstone of International Day of Radiology celebrations, featuring an array of activities such as parties, open days, informative lectures, spirited quizzes, engaging courses, and more, taking place in regions across the globe.

The European Society of Radiology (ESR) encourages those commemorating IDoR to share their experiences on social media using the hashtag #IDoR2023. The society’s social media team will be on the lookout for the most captivating photos, compelling videos, and noteworthy events throughout the day.

IDoR coincides with the anniversary of Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen’s groundbreaking discovery of X-rays, and its purpose remains steadfast: to heighten awareness of the invaluable contribution of radiology to safe and effective patient care, while also enlightening the public about the pivotal roles played by radiologists and radiographers in the realm of healthcare.
