Basic Safety Standards: help is at hand

The Basic Safety Standards (Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom) change a number of requirements that affect healthcare professionals in radiology (e.g. justification of exposure, patient information, responsibilities for radiation safety, dose reporting, and diagnostic reference levels). With the four-year transition period ending today (February 6), EU member states must have transposed the directive into national laws and regulations, and imaging departments need to comply with these new rules.
