Friday, September 1, 2017 (ESR, Vienna) – Carefully selected by the Programme Planning Committee, the ECR 2018 scientific programme offers something for everybody; from basic knowledge and hands-on workshops for younger colleagues to innovations throughout all subspecialties and the most recent and fascinating research. Special features in hybrid imaging and interventional radiology, new session formats, and a dedicated radiographers’ programme round off an exceptionally all-encompassing agenda.
Amongst the new session formats at ECR 2018 will be ‘My Thesis in 3 Minutes’ (MyT3), a special format for residents and young radiologists who would like to present their scientific thesis (MD or PhD) as a first author, very briefly, in a dynamic and entertaining session. Also new is the spectacular presentation location, the Sky High Stage, overlooking the Austria Center and providing a magnificent view of Vienna from the top of the nearby Saturn Tower.
The ‘Coffee & Talk’ open forum session format will take place for the first time at ECR 2018, located in one of the stylish lounges at the congress venue, providing an informal atmosphere for short lectures and discussions. Participants are invited to stop by and contribute to the informal discussions while sipping their coffee or tea.
Anyone interested in joining the two new series of educational ‘Hands-on Workshops’, dealing with the topics ‘MRI in the Prostate’ and ‘Ultrasound Elastography’, should be quick, as the number of participants at each session is restricted to 30, and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Another new project, ‘Interventional Radiology at the Cube’, intended to introduce young radiologists to the fascinating subspecialty of interventional radiology, and to provide enhanced knowledge of IR to radiologists who need it. Lectures and hands-on workshops focus on interaction with the participants, simulating clinical routine and concentrating on practice-oriented contents.
