ESOI to label the Oncologic Imaging Course as their annual meeting
Another edition of the Oncologic Imaging Course (OIC)* was organised last week in the jewel-like city of Dubrovnik. This year, for the first time, the OIC acted as the official joint annual meeting of the OIC and the European Society of Oncologic Imaging (ESOI). An outstanding and diverse educational programme attracted more than 220 participants from more than 40 countries around the world. This number has almost doubled compared to last year and reflects the success of the collaboration with ESOI, a subspecialty society of ESR, with over 1000 members.
Prof. Hedvig Hricak and Prof. Regina Beets-Tan inaugurated the Young Radiologists special session in the afternoon of June 27. For the first time OIC featured research presentations by young radiologists, showing different perspectives and new insights from the next generation of oncologic imagers.
The main programme starting on Thursday, June 28, covered various parts and modalities of oncologic imaging and also offered multidisciplinary approaches. During the course different (hands-on) workshops were organised, providing attendees with the opportunity to actively participate and engage with renowned speakers from New York (MSKCC) and all over Europe.
OIC.9 will be organised again in Dubrovnik between June 19-22, 2019.
*The Oncologic Imaging Course (OIC), established in 2011, is an annual oncologic imaging course jointly organised by the European Society of Oncologic Imaging, the Department of Radiology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Department of Radiology at Ludwig Maximilians University Munich and the Department of Biomedical Imaging and ImageGuided Therapy at the Medical University of Vienna.
