July 2018

On July 20 and 21, 2018 the ESOR Asklepios Course on Neuroradiology took place at the Anantara Riverside Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. This was not only the first ESOR activity in Thailand, organised in collaboration with the Royal College of Radiologists of Thailand (RCRT), but also the first collaboration between ESOR and Guerbet.

A total of 140 participants, radiologists in training or recently board certified radiologists from Thailand, as well as from Vietnam and the Philippines, attended this 1.5-day course and followed the lectures and workshops given by the well-known European and Thai faculty. The course was jointly chaired by Prof. Anchalee Churojana, the President of the RCRT and Prof. Valérie Vilgrain, ESOR scientific and educational director. The faculty included O. Chawalparit (Bangkok/TH), P. Parizel (Antwerp/BE), J-P. Pruvo, (Lille/FR), M. Thurnher (Vienna/AT) and P. Vilela (Lisbon/PT).

The feedback, both from participants and faculty, was fantastic. Following the success of this first course, the continuation of this ESOR programme in South-East Asia in 2019 was confirmed.
