February 2022
The ECR 2022 Overture will see the return of Channel 1, the heart of our online ECR event, around which the entire congress will revolve. With content streamed live from a state-of-the-art studio in Vienna, Channel 1 is where you will find the meeting’s biggest highlights and can get a taste of what is to come at ECR 2022 in July. With strong support from the ESR’s major industry partners, Channel 1 will also feature interviews with key leaders from companies such as Roche Diagnostics, GE Healthcare, the Bracco Group and Siemens Healthineers.
The ECR 2022 Overture, taking place on March 2-6, will include a total of five simultaneous channels streaming the very latest updates from the world of radiology. Channel 1 will feature many of the events biggest highlights including Trailer sessions, Roundtable discussions and one-on-one interviews.
Trailer session will provide a glimpse of the main themes and formats to be expected at ECR 2022, to be held in Vienna on July 13-17. These sessions will familiarise attendees with the congress theme of Building Bridges, as well as session formats such as Multidisciplinary sessions, Pros and Cons Debates, Open Forum sessions, and the Patients in Focus programme. Trailer sessions will aim to inspire participants to attend ECR 2022 in-person in July for the real ECR experience.
Roundtable discussions will also make up an important part of Channel 1. Here, experts from a variety of fields will join ESR President, Prof. Regina Beets-Tan and other members of the ESR Board of Directors for exciting and important discussions on controversial topics in radiology. Not only will roundtable sessions be a meeting of minds where differing perspectives and lively debates will be encouraged, but they will also involve some of medical imaging’s most successful industry leaders.
Bernd Ohnesorge, President of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Siemens Healthineers, will take part in the session ‘Building bridges: radiology and radiation therapy, a match made in heaven?’, whilst Alberto Spinazzi, Senior Vice President Chief Medical and Regulatory Officer of the Bracco Group, will speak in the session ‘Building bridges: how to be successful in multidisciplinary research?’. CEO of Roche Diagnostics Thomas Schinecker will also take part in the session ‘Building bridges: integrated diagnostics’ to share his thoughts on AI and digitalisation, and President and CEO of GE Healthcare Europe, Middle East and Africa, Rob Walton will give an interview on developments within the industry.
Multiple industry partners will also share their latest innovations, research and technology via symposia and recorded content to be streamed on both Channel 1 and Channel 5.
