Monday, March 21, 2022 – For the first time ever, the abstract submission period was reopened for ECR 2022, offering even more attendees the chance to submit their work before the meeting, which takes place from July 13-17, 2022. With a total of 1,066 abstracts received, the results highlight an enthusiasm and renewed confidence in returning to an onsite congress after more than three years of online meetings.
With 6,890 abstracts submitted during the initial abstract submission period in autumn 2021, the total number of abstracts for ECR 2022 is now 7,956, representing a 100% increase in comparison to ECR 2021. As in autumn, abstracts were received from a diverse range of countries of which Italy, China and Germany were among the top three and touched on a great variety of topics and subspecialties.
“I am so grateful to everyone who decided to submit an abstract during our reopening period”, said Prof. Regina Beets-Tan, ESR President and Chairperson of the ECR 2022 Programme Planning Committee. “It was important to us that we offered as many people the opportunity to present at ECR 2022 as possible, whether this be onsite or online. This will ensure that the congress features, not only a diverse range of multidisciplinary speakers and topics, but also the most up-to-date research from the fast-paced world of medical imaging”.
ECR 2022 will be held in Vienna and online. You can register for the congress here.
