Vienna, Austria – March 10, 2025 – The European Society of Radiology (ESR) is pleased to introduce its newly appointed Board of Directors and Executive Council, following the ESR General Assembly on March 2.
Leading the society into its next chapter, Andrea Rockall (United Kingdom) steps into the esteemed role of Chair of the ESR Board of Directors, the society’s highest governing position. Minerva Becker (Switzerland) assumes the role of ESR President, while also chairing the ECR 2026 Programme Planning Committee. Joining the Board of Directors as 2nd Vice President is Marie-Pierre Revel (France), following her successful election in January.
The ESR extends its deepest gratitude to Carlo Catalano for his exceptional leadership as Chair over the past year. His continued guidance will be highly valued as he moves into the position of ESR Past-President.
Additionally, the society welcomes the following newly appointed Executive Council members:
- Amelie M. Lutz – Chair, Education Committee
- Luís M. Curvo Semedo – Chair, National Societies Committee
- Ferdia Gallagher – Chair, Publications Committee
- Raquel Perez-Lopez – Chair, Research Committee
Furthermore, Andrzej Cieszanowski has been co-opted as Chair of the ESR Communications & Interdisciplinary Affairs Committee, following Prof. Revel’s election as 2nd Vice President.
Additionally, the European School of Radiology (ESOR) welcomes Prof. Christian Loewe as ESOR Scientific & Educational Director. The ESR thanks the outgoing director Prof. Valérie Vilgrain for her incredible dedication to expanding and enhancing radiological education during her term.
A special note of appreciation goes to Adrian Brady for his dedicated service on the Board of Directors, as his term concluded on March 2. His commitment and contributions to the ESR have been inspirational.
