Following the recent publication of the amending electronic Instruction for use (eIFU) regulation, healthcare professionals will be able to receive instructions for use of medical devices in electronic format, rather than solely on paper.
The adoption of eIFU is a part of the Commission’s broader initiative to modernise healthcare, support environmental sustainability, and alleviate financial and administrative pressures on device manufacturers.
The ESR strongly supported this initiative in recent EC consultations, as this measure is fully aligned with its commitment to environmental sustainability and action plan to mitigate the environmental impact of medical imaging.
