The flagship journal of the ESR continuously updates scientific knowledge in clinical radiology by publishing original research articles of general interest and importance as well as state-of-the-art reviews, and short communications written by leading radiologists. Members of the ESR receive free electronic access to the journal, which is Europe’s No.1 journal for general radiology.
Since January 2018 the Editor in Chief is Prof. Yves Menu from Paris, France. His editorship will focus on optimising workflows and editorial procedures, as well as strengthening the Impact Factor, which is currently 5.315 for the year 2020, and enhancing compliance with international publishing and research standards.

We would like to kindly inform you that since January 2021 European Radiology will be published as an online-only journal.
The vast majority of European Radiology readers access our articles exclusively online and we have noticed a decrease in the demand for the printed edition. In addition, the (non-)sustainability of printing scientific journals has become a growing issue needing to be addressed. Therefore, the ESR leadership decided to cease the monthly print issues of European Radiology at the end of 2020.
Nevertheless, active members of the ESR have free unlimited electronic access to European Radiology via their myUserArea.
All active ESR members in good standing have free and unlimited access to European Radiology online.
ESR members can access full text articles via the ESR MyUserArea:
