The European Society of Radiology and the ESR Journals are excited to announce the publication of its debut series of articles in European Radiology Abdomen. The journal, established as a joint venture between the ESR, European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR), and European Society of Urogenital Radiology (ESUR), has published its first papers, including the inaugural editorial written by the editors of the journal.
Led by the Editor-in-Chief Valérie Vilgrain (Paris, FR), the journal has received a significant number of submissions since its announcement earlier this year, demonstrating the need for a designated journal within this field.
“The strong response from the abdominal imaging community since the journal was announced confirms the need for a dedicated publication in this field”, says Prof. Minerva Becker, Chair of the ESR Board of Directors. “We are delighted to see European Radiology Abdomen begin its journey and look forward to the impact it will have on advancing research, education, and collaboration.”
“I am delighted that we are announcing the launch of European Radiology Abdomen”, says Prof. Ferdia Gallagher, Chair of the ESR Publications Committee. “This is a very exciting time for our journal family and Prof. Valérie Vilgrain is the ideal choice as the inaugural Editor-in-Chief to lead this important new initiative.”
“The launch of the journal marks a new milestone for the ESR Journals,” says Prof. Hamm, Chief Editor of the ESR Journals. He also states that the growth of the ESR Journals solidifies their position in the radiological community, for which he is very grateful to all the authors and reviewers helping in the early stages of the Journal.
Prof. Vilgrain proudly points out that “this journal belongs to the abdominal imaging community” and warmly welcomes all future submissions.
The first articles are now available on Springer Nature, with more to come soon.
