The European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the ESR Journals are proud to announce the launch of the new spin-off journal European Radiology Cardiovascular and Thoracic. The journal is founded in collaboration with European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR) and the European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI). This research-focused journal is dedicated to advancing multimodal cardiovascular and thoracic imaging with the goal of improving health outcomes for patients.
Led by Editor-in-Chief Hatem Alkadhi (Zurich, Switzerland), the editorial team will also include Deputy Editors Mark O. Wielpütz (Greifswald, Germany), Marco Francone (Rome, Italy), and Anna Rita Larici (Rome, Italy).
“The Journal’s overarching mission is to improve patient care and outcomes in cardiovascular and thoracic disease,” says Prof. Alkadhi. “We hope to address current limitations and offer clinically meaningful insights.” The journal is open to submissions of original articles, reviews, letters-to-the-editor, commentaries and practice-oriented articles.
“For ESCR, this journal provides a unique platform to promote European cardiovascular radiology globally and highlight the work of both emerging and experienced researchers”, stated Prof. Rodrigo Salgado, President of ESCR. “In a rapidly evolving field, it will present new insights and discoveries, aiding the development of cardiovascular healthcare policies across Europe and beyond. Finally, we are proud to participate in this effort together with ESTI, combining the strengths of both societies in another significant step forward for European radiology”.
“The launch of European Radiology Cardiovascular and Thoracic is not only the start of a new journal, but also a sign of the dynamic and collaborative spirit that drives our field forward”, stated Prof. Helmut Prosch, President of ESTI.
European Radiology Cardiovascular and Thoracic is a Gold Open Access journal and is published by the ESR’s long-standing publishing partner Springer.
