On June 1-2, the ESR will host a first-of-its-kind event, connAction – Radiology Connecting Disciplines. This two-day series of scientific and educational sessions will feature some of radiology’s biggest names sharing the stage with key representatives from subspecialties, allied sciences, and a huge range of other medical disciplines. The event will be streamed live online from Vienna and will be freely accessible to all via ESR Connect.
connAction will take place in parallel to the ESR Annual Leadership Meeting (ALM) – the annual get-together of ESR leaders and representatives from radiology subspecialty societies and allied sciences. The ALM will take place in Vienna, with a state-of-the-art pop-up studio onsite to host the connAction sessions.
Guest speakers at the first-time event will include not only radiologists, but surgeons, oncologists, urologists, hepatologists, physicists, cardiologists, and neurologists. Sessions are to cover a wide range of topics but will share a common thread in examining radiology’s place in the healthcare continuum and emphasising the importance of taking a multidisciplinary approach to care.
“connAction reharnesses the motto ‘Building Bridges’, the central theme of ECR 2022, and gives it a brand-new platform to expand and explore multidisciplinary care,” said Prof. Regina Beets-Tan, Chair of the ESR Board of Directors. “With multidisciplinarity at the heart of this event, I believe it will be an exciting chance to see how our call-to-action at last year’s congress has started to be put into practice, and how it will continue to shape the future of our profession going forward.”
