ESR leads consortium on EU Radiation, Education, Staffing & Training (EU-REST) study

The ESR is pleased to announce that it will lead a consortium consisting of the ESR, EFOMP, EFRS, and ESTRO (with input from other stakeholders) on the European Union Radiation, Education, Staffing & Training (EU-REST) study. The 24-month study, which launched in September 2022, aims to provide an analysis of workforce availability, education, and training needs to ensure quality and safety aspects of medical applications involving ionising radiation in the EU. It is funded by the European Commission and managed by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA). More information can be found on the study website.

Lung Cancer Screening can save lives

Lung cancer screening can save lives and radiologists must get prepared to its implementation, following the September 2022 recommendation of the European Council.

Six webinars and three lung nodule case-based sessions dedicated to LCS are available on a dedicated platform.

European Society of Radiology

Founded in 2005, by merging the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) and the European Association of Radiology (EAR), the European Society of Radiology (ESR) is an apolitical, non-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening and unifying European radiology.

With 130 316 members across the globe, it has grown to become the largest radiological society in the world and hosts one of the biggest and most innovative scientific meetings in Europe, the European Congress of Radiology, in Vienna each year.

The Society works closely with national radiological societies across Europe and further afield, while establishing relationships with major international organisations from other related fields. It also monitors developments on the EU level which could have an impact on research and practice in radiology, with the best interests of the patient as its overriding goal.

The mission of the European Society of Radiology is to serve the healthcare needs of the general public by supporting scientific research, education and training while constantly striving to improve the quality of radiological practice.
