Inspired by the ECR 2022 motto 'Building Bridges', next year's congress will feature Patients in Focus, an exclusive programme dedicated to the biggest stakeholder in medical imaging — the patient. Through a mixture of headline sessions, open discussions and brand-new session formats, this series will focus on exploring and enhancing the relationship between medical imaging professionals and patients.
Patients in Focus will feature inspirational and insightful talks from patients, radiologists, and radiographers, as well as clinicians and representatives from other medical disciplines. It will highlight the critical role radiology has in the healthcare continuum whilst seeking to pinpoint exactly what patients want from their doctors and how our care for them can be improved.
All sessions and events held at TechGate Vienna from July 13-17 and are free-of-charge and open to the public. All sessions held in the Austria Center are accessible to registered attendees of ECR 2022 only.
The programme is being coordinated by Erik Briers and Caroline Justich in collaboration with the ESR Patient Advisory Group.
Be accepted is an upcoming patient awareness campaign offering information and resources to female patients diagnosed with cancer. The campaign will provide advice on common problems and will cover everything a patient needs to know to optimize their life with cancer. Be accepted will not only offer guidance to female cancer patients, but also to radiologists, acting as a tool to help them prepare patients when they are first diagnosed, as well as offering advice on optimising workflow, improving patient communication, and presenting various treatments.
The campaign will include the distribution of a publication featuring health and lifestyle advice and news, as well as the launch of a patient avatar and website to help diagnosed women stay on track and become active patients. Information will be presented in a lifestyle magazine format to help create an accessible and positive reading experience.
Be accepted will be launched at ECR 2022 on Friday, July 15 as part of the Patients in Focus programme. Featuring a combination of special talks, interactive exhibits and healthy refreshments, the event promises to be a unique learning experience for patients and medical professionals alike.
The Be accepted launch will be free of charge and open to congress attendees and the public*.
Please note, that the event will be held in German.
Be accepted was founded by Ms. Caroline Justich and Ms. Judith Tscheppe and is proudly supported by the European Society of Radiology.
