It is with great sadness that the European Society of Radiology (ESR) announces the passing of Professor Miloš A. Lučić, a distinguished radiologist and neuroradiologist who made significant contributions to radiological education and professional development in Serbia, the Balkan region and across Europe.
Prof. Lučić was a Full Professor of Radiology, Neuroradiology and Diagnostic & Molecular Imaging at the University of Novi Sad Medical Faculty in Serbia and the University of Banja Luka Medical Faculty in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Based at the Oncology Institute of Vojvodina, his clinical and academic work focused particularly on neuroradiology, paediatric neuroradiology and neuro-oncological imaging.
Education was a central part of Prof. Lučić’s career. In 2006, he founded an MRI School in the Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian languages and went on to chair the educational programmes of numerous national and regional radiology and neuroradiology congresses and schools. He hosted an ESOR Neuroradiology course in Novi Sad in 2012 and was a frequent speaker at educational events throughout Europe.
Prof. Lučić held numerous leadership positions, including President of the Radiological Society of Serbia, President of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Society of Serbia, Vice-Chairman of the Serbian Society of Neuroradiology and General Secretary of the Balkan Society of Radiology.
