ESR Journals:
Meet & Greet sessions
at ECR 2024

Meet & Greet sessions held at the ESR Journals Publications Lounge (Level 1) provide an ideal opportunity to meet the Editors of all three journals: European Radiology, Insights into Imaging, and European Radiology Experimental.

The sessions are scheduled daily, according to topics, and each one offers a new chance to ask the Editors everything you always wanted about the Journals, your specialty, writing a good paper, or to just have a casual chat.

Responsibilities

The Editor-in-Chief of Insights into Imaging oversees all editorial processes and is responsible for the editorial integrity of the journal. Further, they will work together strategically and practically with the ESR Journal Family group of editors. The incoming Editor-in-Chief of Insights into Imaging will liaise with the Chief Editor of the ESR Journal Family, currently Prof. Bernd Hamm, regarding significant changes in the editorial strategy and/or policy of the journal.

Applicants should have a strong record in scientific publishing and experience in editorial work on, at least, Editorial Board level in an internationally respected radiological journal. Furthermore, they should be recognized for their diplomacy and ability to network. This leads to the following responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all aspects of the journal’s peer-review process to ensure a fast, efficient, and transparent process through implementing measures needed to ensure fast turnaround times
  • Adhering to good publishing practice, especially the standards of the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE)
  • Pro-active cooperation with the other ESR Journal Family journals (currently European Radiology and European Radiology Experimental)
  • Creating and implementing an active commissioning strategy for articles
  • Providing leadership and editorial guidance for the team of editors of Insights into Imaging
  • Maintaining and regularly liaising with a high-profile Editorial Board
  • Reporting on the performance of Insights into Imaging to the Chief Editor of the ESR Journal Family and chair of the ESR Publication Committee on a regular basis, and to the ESR Board of Directors upon request
  • Connect within the scientific community, network for, and represent the journal by e.g., attending scientific meetings to stimulate submission of high-quality scientific work, among others
