At ECR 2020, for the first time, all participants (professional delegates) will receive a so-called ‘ECR SmartTag’.
The ECR SmartTag is a Bluetooth device that records the attendance of sessions as well as the movement of congress delegates with the use of sensors distributed throughout the congress venue and the adjacent exhibition halls.
All professional delegates who have a valid registration for ECR 2020 will receive an ECR SmartTag. This is either sent by postal mail*, together with other congress related materials such as badges and lanyards, before the congress, or handed over directly at the registration desks on site.
All participants who receive their SmartTag by postal mail must activate it before entering the congress centre. To activate the SmartTag, the plastic strip (see image on the right) must be removed. The SmartTag can be activated a few days prior to the start of the congress (maximum 10 days and therefore not earlier than March 1, 2020).
THE SMARTTAG WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT REMOVING THE PLASTIC STRIP!
ECR SmartTag allows you to automatically register and record the attendance of sessions, which is one of the prerequisites for receiving CME credits. Wearing the ECR SmartTag is a mandatory prerequisite in order to obtain CME credits for the sessions you attend (in order to receive CME credits for a session, proof of participation from the organiser of the event is required).
Personal data for the confirmation of participation in a session will only be processed upon the participant’s consent to be given in the ECR 2020 evaluation platform ‘EvalBox’.
More information about CME credits and all prerequisites to receive them can be found on www.myESR.org/CME. If you have any questions on site, please do not hesitate to contact the CME & SmartTag Helpdesk in the entrance hall of the congress venue.
The ECR SmartTag allows an analysis of the pseudonymised movement data of the congress participants. For this purpose, only the following data of the congress participant will be processed:
ATTENTION: There will be NO processing of personal data that would allow to assign the analysed movements of the tags to an identifiable congress participant! This is ensured by separate storage of the movement data assigned to the SmartTag and the personal data of the congress participants, as well as by appropriate organisational and technical measures.
The legal basis for the analysis of the pseudonymised movement data of the congress participants is Art 6 (1) lit f) GDPR. The ESR’s vested interest in the analysis of pseudonymised movement data of the congress participants is the evaluation of such pseudonymised movement data in order to uphold and still improve the high standard of planning of the upcoming congresses. The pseudonymised movement data will be made available to the exhibitors in order to allow them to evaluate the frequency and duration of visits of their booth by visitor groups.
For further information on the data processed by ESR, please refer to the ESR website.
In case of any questions, please feel free to contact us at smarttag@myESR.org or visit us at the ECR SmartTag helpdesk in the entrance hall of the ACV.
