Dose reduction techniques in paediatric CT: from A to Z

Optimised low dose CT protocols: the half slice thickness approach.

Wednesday, March 2, 2016 (ECR) – Computed tomography (CT) is an essential imaging modality that can be used to solve many clinical problems. Moreover, it is available all over the globe and in many areas even on a 24/7 basis. Over the last ten years much has been done to lower the radiation doses used in CT through technical innovations and the application of protocols based on the ALARA (As...

Comprehensive personalised approach lays new ground for cardiothoracic imaging

Sunday, March 8 (ECR) – Cardiac and thoracic diseases are often intertwined and can be diagnosed during the same examination. Cardiovascular and chest radiologists are therefore trying to broaden their focus, and they have a lot to teach each other. Speakers from both sides will discuss the challenges ahead in today’s New Horizons session at the ECR.

Radiologists must adopt a comprehensive approach because of the relationship between diseases of the heart and chest, according to Prof. Christian Loewe, deputy...

Communicating the results of radiological studies to patients: from high-tech to human touch imaging

ECR 2015 to look at the communication between patients and radiologists.

Wednesday, March 4, 2015 (ECR) – Good communication between patients and doctors is essential for proper patient care. A session organised by the European Society of Radiology Patient Advisory Group (ESR-PAG) will focus on this crucial aspect of healthcare on Sunday at ECR 2015, said Nicola Bedlington, Secretary General of the European Patients’ Forum and Chairperson of ESR-PAG, ahead of the ECR Opening Press Conference on Wednesday.
