The Cube, ECR’s interventional radiology event, will again take place during the upcoming ECR 2024 from February 28 to March 2 at the ACV in Vienna. Over the course of these four days, students, residents, radiologists and anyone interested will once again have the opportunity to dive deeper into the field of interventional radiology in an interactive and hands-on learning environment.
The event features a series of short introductory and educational lectures delivered by experts in the field, covering peripheral, central, oncologic and neurologic interventions and a variety of simulation-based activities in our popular Simulator Adventure Park.
As part of the simulation-based activities, industry partners will make their materials, equipment, and simulators available in the Simulator Adventure Park, creating a dynamic space where visitors can learn about techniques, try out devices and simulators at any time under the guidance of tutors, and interact with renowned industry partners in the field of IR.

Simulation Activities
Simulation Activity periods – where Cube participants can visit industry-operated workstations to perform simulated interventions and other activities – will include four one-hour periods per day for the entire duration of the Cube (February 28 – March 2, 2024). These periods will take place at the following times:

Physician/Radiographer Support: A number of interventional radiologists and radiographers will be available to support simulated interventions undertaken in the Cube at ECR 2024.

The Cube is a feature event of the European Congress of Radiology, held annually in Vienna.
The next Cube will take place during ECR 2024 (February 28 – March 3) at the Austria Center (ACV) Vienna.
The Cube provides an interactive introduction to IR. Thus, it is suited to young physicians, students, radiologists, radiographers, nurses and anyone else who wants to learn more about this fascinating field.
All participants with a valid ECR registration have access to the Cube Area and are able to attend the scientific sessions as well as the hands-on simulations at the Simulator Adventure Park.

The Cube is organised and run by the European Society of Radiology (ESR). It relies upon the support of a number of industry partners and specialists who present simulations and interactive presentations.
The Cube’s structure and programme are guided by the chairs, PD Dr. Maximilian de Bucourt (Berlin/DE) and Prof. Christian Loewe (Vienna/AT), as well as daily topic coordinators.
The European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS) also collaborated in the Cube’s organisation for the past two years, in an effort to welcome more radiographers to the Cube.
